Over the years, Omnex has contributed significantly to the evolutionary development of management systems standards which now play a central role in ensuring the quality and reliability of industry products.
As a result of this progress, to be a supplier to today’s Automotive industry an organization must have a QMS certified to IATF 16949, including effectively employing APQP and PPAP processes and methodologies to manage product engineering and manufacturing risk. OEMS and major 1st tiers may, as well, require Environmental and Health/Safety management systems meeting the requirements of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and, for European OEMs and 1st tiers, VDA 6.3 Process Audits as well as VDA 6.5 Product Audits. For both efficiency and effectiveness these systems can, and arguably should, be integrated into one cohesive and aligned system, an approach Omnex has long advocated and effectively employed with our global automotive customers.
Omnex’s influence is felt through our active participation on the ISO Technical committees responsible for the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards. Further, Omnex principals have helped write the AIAG Core Tools manuals (APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and PPAP), including the newer AIAG VDA FMEA Handbook. We also contribute to the committees responsible for ISO 26262 Functional Safety, ISO 21434 Cybersecurity, ASPICE Software Quality, and the ISO 21448 SOTIF (Safety of the Intended Function) standards.
To help support our clients’ success, Omnex provides a wide variety of services for Management Systems in the Automotive Industry, including Training and Competency development, Consulting, Implementation Projects, Coaching, and Digitalization often employing Omnex’s Collaboration Platforms (EwQIMS), and by providing Outsourcing solutions, when needed. Our Design Division provides comprehensive support to our customers with design services, which focus particularly on EV-AV Standards such as Functional Safety and Cybersecurity.
